Oval chainring
These oval chainrings have an 11% alternation. This means that the 32 T version has a minimum gearing of 30 teeth and a maximum of 34 teeth. Every pedal stroke encounters a dead point. This is where the cranks are perfectly vertical. You can't exert any meaningful power at that point, so you'll want to get past it as quickly as possible. Oval chainrings have fewer teeth at this point, allowing you to get through it quicker. They then provide you with maximum gearing during the part of the pedal stroke where you can provide the most power. This theory helps you get through the dead spot quicker, meaning you loose less power when you try to reach your optimal power band. This increases your pedalling efficiency, and reduces the amount of lactic acid you produce as well as your fatigue levels. The chainring has an 11% oval shape, which takes a few days of getting used to. Once you have, you'll only be able to ride harder!

Beautiful and pedals nicely uphill.
Since I have oval I don't want to go back. There are whole stories about why oval is better or not, but I just find it pedalling better especially with power uphill.
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Mantel, smooth, correct and simple
Easy to assemble Always correct and sufficient info on the web site regarding materials
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Simply good but more expensive than the alternatives
Original so everything fits together perfectly. I myself am used to the q- rings from Rotor and oval from Absolute Black which is my preference but this one also cycles very pleasantly. Quality is very good.

good product
good product and meets my expectations
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
More flow, less shifting.
The other form you feel immediately. As if someone is giving a little push every time. After about five minutes of getting used to it, you simply ride much more smoothly on long stretches. If you have to pedal because of a small climb or loose sand, the difference is even more noticeable: at the point where you can apply the least force, when your pedal is almost at the top, your pedaling is actually lighter. And at the maximum moment you pedal the heaviest. This distributes and utilizes your power better. Result: easier starting and simply less gear shifting. Even on climbs. The latter takes some getting used to, almost against your logic. After the first 100km I also had the idea that my knees were less painful, but it is a bit early to be sure. Didn't expect the effect to be so noticeable, but: well worth the purchase!
