Description
The Trek Checkpoint SL 5 is a gravel bike fit for cycling adventures on any surface.
Exceptional cycling performance
Lightweight, fast and comfortable: these are Trek's three focus areas for this design. Whichever gravel path you take, with this Checkpoint bike you will have lots of fun as you fly through it!
If you like a challenge and speed, the Trek Checkpoint SL 5 certainly is an option worth considering.
The frame of this gravel bike is made of lightweight OLCV carbon and has an agile yet stable gravel geometry. It also has an internal storage compartment in which you can put some tools, for example. To cater for true gravel riders, the Checkpoint also features Trek’s comfort-enhancing IsoSpeed technology.
Smooth shifting and braking
Trek has selected the Shimano GRX drivetrain for the Checkpoint SL 5. These gears are the first to feature specific gravel components for ultimate cycling fun on both asphalt and dirt roads. You have 22 gears at your disposal of which the lower ones are ideally suited to steeper climbs or heavy gravel stretches. Braking is done with a Shimano brake disc. These discs are known for their great stopping power, even on steep downhill sections.
Versatility
The Checkpoint is more than just a gravel monster. It has mounting points for frame bags and a luggage carrier to allow you to turn your gravel bike into a bike suitable for bikepacking trips. Another important feature is the massive tyre clearance; you can use tyres up to 45c, which will give you fantastic stability and grip.
