The Giro Register II W is a lightweight, comfortable helmet for anyone who enjoys cycling, whether it’s commuting to work, a spin on a road bike or a weekend day trip. Giro has incorporated the style and ventilation of its more expensive road cycling helmets into this sporty helmet, and you can see and feel the difference.
The polycarbonate outer shell is moulded as a single piece with the shock-absorbing EPS inner lining (In-Mold). This makes the helmet both sturdy and lightweight (270 grams).
Thanks to 19 ventilation openings and deep channels on the inside, air flows freely around your head. You can click the visor into place when the sun is low or when it is raining, and remove it just as easily. There are reflective details at the back for improved visibility.
The helmet is available in one size (universal fit) for head circumferences of 50 to 57 cm. Using the dial on the Roc Loc Sport system, you can adjust it precisely to fit your head with just one hand.
In-Mold construction
The hard polycarbonate outer shell and the shock-absorbing EPS inner lining are moulded as a single piece, resulting in a sturdy helmet without any added weight.
Roc Loc Sport fit system
Using the dial at the back, you can tighten or loosen the helmet with one hand until it fits your head perfectly.
Ventilation with internal channels
As well as 19 ventilation openings, there are deep channels on the inside of the helmet that allow air not only to enter but also to flow past your head and exit again.
Compatible with:
- Head circumferences of 50 to 57 cm
- Sports bikes, regular bikes, and e-bikes up to 25 km/h
- The included removable visor
Not compatible with:
- Head circumferences smaller than 50 or larger than 57 cm.
- Speed pedelecs – in the Netherlands, you need a helmet with a NTA 8776 certification, and Giro does not specify this for this helmet.
Not sure about the size? Here’s how to measure:
Wrap a tape measure around your head, about 1 cm above your eyebrows and just above your ears, at the widest point. If your measurement is between 50 and 57 cm, the Register II W helmet will fit.
Included as standard:
- Giro Register II W helmet
- Removable visor (Quick Link)
Not included / still needed or useful:
- Cycling glasses for when the sun is low or it’s raining
- A thin helmet beanie for cold days
The helmet is ready to use straight away. You can adjust it to fit your head in just a few steps.
How to adjust the Giro Register II W helmet:
- Turn the Roc Loc Sport dial at the back until it is all the way open.
- Place the helmet straight on your head so that the front sits about two fingers’ width above your eyebrows.
- Turn the dial until the helmet fits both securely and comfortably. Shake your head: The helmet should not move.
- Adjust the side straps so that they form a V-shape, just below your ears.
- Fasten the chin strap. You should still be able to fit one finger between the strap and your chin.
Click the visor onto the front of the helmet using the Quick Link system, or remove it if you don’t need it.
- Did you fall while wearing your helmet, and hit the ground, a wall or anything else with it? Replace it, even if there is no visible damage on the outside. The EPS lining may be damaged on the inside and will not protect you as well next time.
- Clean the helmet with lukewarm water and mild soap. Do not use solvents, as these can damage the material.
- Do not leave your helmet in a hot car for long periods, as this is bad for the shell and the inner lining.
- Put the visor on if you often ride in the rain; it will keep some of the water off your face.
