The versatile and lightweight Trek Checkpoint SL Gen 3 gravel frame is built for ultimate comfort on long, rugged rides. With its relaxing geometry and unique vibration absorption technology, it ensures a smooth ride on dirt roads. With very generous tyre clearance and smart storage options, this frame is a perfect foundation for groundbreaking adventures on varying terrain!
This robust gravel frame is made of high-quality 500 Series OCLV Carbon, a material that makes the structure exceptionally strong while keeping the overall weight impressively low, with the frame weighing 1385g and the fork 536g. The construction is designed around the new Trek Gravel Endurance geometry, which provides a relaxed, upright riding position that results in smooth comfort on rough gravel roads and effectively combats fatigue. The bottom bracket is threaded and has a T47 fit, ensuring extremely stiff and creak-free power transfer. Add the full carbon fork and you have a bike frame that delivers tight and highly responsive handling, essential for safe off-road adventures.
Finishing details for comfort and efficiency
Besides the lightweight carbon base, the Checkpoint SL Gen 3 gravel frame offers several unique finishing details for the longest rides. One of these is the integrated IsoSpeed technology, a clever system that keeps you fresh, able and alert for much longer by instantly absorbing shocks and vibrations from bumps and potholes. The down tube includes a concealed big internal storage space (with a large door for easy access) that can hold essential repair gear safely and out of the way. On the outside of the frame are multiple mounting points for luggage racks, mudguards and frame bags while still leaving plenty of room for water bottles: You can install up to four bottle cages on the frame, so even on the really long tours you will always be properly hydrated! Finally, for the toughest descents and roughest trails, the frame is compatible with a dropper seat post and a suspension fork with up to 40 mm of travel.
Compatibility and fit
This super versatile frame is compatible with both mechanical and electronic groupsets via invisible cable routing. The drivetrain supports a chainring of up to 44T in a 1x setup and 46/30T in a 2x setup. The frame has clearance for tyre widths up to 50 mm without mudguards, or 42 mm with mounted mudguards. For wheel mounting, the frame uses Bontrager Switch chamfered thru-axles: 12x100 mm at the front and 142x12 mm at the rear. The system uses flat-mount brakes and supports disc brake rotors up to 180 mm front and rear.
