Trek is one of the biggest brands in the cycling world. This American company, like so many good ideas, came into being in a bar in 1975. Trek founders Dick Burke and Bevil Hogg had already decided that they wanted to start producing bicycles themselves for the mid and higher segment because, surprisingly, there was no one in the US who produced bicycles for those segments at the time.

Trek Mountain bikes can also be found in many different price ranges. The most affordable model is the Trek Marlin. The X-caliber and Superfly series form the mid-range and early top-end segment with plenty of choice for the novice or advanced mountain biker. For years, the well-known Bontrager brand has been part of the Trek stable. So it's not surprising that Carbon wheels play a big role at Trek. Saddles, time trial bars and all sorts of other accessories are also sold under the Bontrager name.
