Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- The Madone SL 6 Gen 8 combines the low weight of the Émonda with the aerodynamics of the last Madone, ensuring unrivalled speeds.
- The Shimano 105 Di2 Electronic groupset provides reliable, precise shifting under all circumstances.
- The carbon wheels with 35 mm rim depth perfectly balance being lightweight with aerodynamics.
- The renewed IsoFlow technology and carbon seat post ensure improved shock absorption, so you'll stay fresh in the saddle for a longer time.
- With a frameset weight of a mere 1417 grams, the Madone SL Gen 8 is over 200 grams lighter than the frame of the Trek Émonda SL.
- The standard BontRager R3 Hard-Case Lite tyres aren't as good as premium road bike tyres in terms of rolling resistance, but do offer good rolling resistance.
- The compact gear ratio (50/34T) might not be ideal for cyclist looking for maximum speeds on flat roads, but is very suitable for hilly terrain and hobbyists.

With a frameset weight of only 1417 grams, the Madone SL 6 Gen 8 is over 200 grams lighter than the Trek Émonda SL and even 250 grams lighter than the Madone SL Gen 7. This results in an incredibly lightweight feel, while the renewed IsoFlow technology ensures 80% better shock absorption, so you can keep cycling at top speeds for a longer time. The new performance geometry provides a perfect balance between aerodynamics and agility, ensuring that this bike excels on straight roads and as well as in corners.
Shifting and braking
The Shimano 105 Di2 R7100 electronic groupset provides smooth, precise shifting under all circumstances. The 24 gears and compact crankset (50/34T) make cycling on flat roads as well as mountainous terrain easy. The hydraulic disc brakes ensure reliable braking power, even in wet or muddy circumstances, so you can ride with confidence no matter the weather.
Finish
The Madone SL 6 Gen 8 is equipped with Bontrager Aeolus Elite 35 carbon wheels, which are both lightweight and tubeless ready. The Bontrager R3 Hard-Case Lite tyres are 28 mm wide and offer excellent grip and puncture protection, and can be replaced with tyres up to 32 mm wide for extra comfort on rough terrain. The Bontrager Aeolus Comp saddle and the Trek Madone Aero Carbon seat post ensure extra comfort and support on long rides.

Fantastic bike.
The Madone rides very comfortably and is easier to maintain speed. Two weeks after buying it, I took the bike on holiday and climbed the Stelvio. Climbing and descending is great.

Very fine road bike with high-quality finish!
Very nice road bike, the bike feels stiff and handlebars, bars easily. The seatpost seems to give some comfort which is very nice. Finish of the bike is what you would expect from Trek, very neat! Electric shifting obviously completes the bike!
