Description
Description
The compound of Jagwire Semi-Metallic brake pads consists of a mix between organic components and metal. The compound is placed on a metal backplate, which provides the brake pad with adequate stiffness and dosability.
The advantage of the semi-metallic compound is that these brake pads have great dosability and produce little noise. In addition, the can resist high temperatures that can be caused by long descents. These brake pads also wear out slower in muddy terrain.
The downside is the semi-metallic brake pads react slower than organic brake pads and produce more noise during braking.
Semi-metallic brake pads are all-round brake pads that can be used all year through. In addition, they provide great stopping power and good dosability, but react slower than organic brake pads.
Note:
Manufacturers use different sizes & fits. Make sure if the shape of the brake pad in the image corresponds with your current brake pad. Not sure what shape you have, scroll down to the bottom of this page. There, you’ll find which brake pad is suited for which type of brake.
