Lengthening with a chain rivet tool
When you buy a chain it is always too long, which means it always needs to be cut to length. To adjust the chain to the correct length it has to be broken, this is done with a chain punch. Our chain punches can be found here. Make sure you choose a chain tool for the right speed.

Despite advice from sram, still used different (flattop) chain.
With the Eagle cassette and derailleur, I had to have this chain, according to description. However, the adjustment would not work. We put the flattop back on, which made the adjustment work. In short, sometimes you really have to go by your gut. This chain was not a success.

Chain does what it is supposed to do, moving the mtb forward. No disappointing performance. Previous chain (same one) lasted 3500 km before needing replacement
