Pros & Cons
- Multi-purpose lube: use it for your road, mountain, cyclocross or gravel bike.
- With Squirt Lube you always have excellent lubrication, a quiet chain and the lowest possible friction, provided that you apply it regularly.
- Your chain, cassette and chainrings get less dirty than they would when using chain oil, and the chain does not need to be degreased as any dirt simply falls out.
- Squirt Lube is 100% environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
- By using Squirt Lube you can extend the life of your chain and sprockets by up to 40% compared to regular chain lubricant.
- When you're giving a new chain a full cleaning, it will take some time before Squirt Lube works optimally. Try using a chain cleaner and chain degreaser for the best results.

Benefits of wax
Squirt Lube is not a bike chain oil but a bike chain wax. Due to the composition of the wax, the friction in the drivetrain of your bike is greatly reduced. Also, wax attracts much less dirt than an oil does. Thus, the drivetrain remains clean and the chain remains well lubricated even in the worst conditions.
First use
When you apply Squirt Lube for the first time you'll need a little more time than when using chain grease. For an optimal use of Squirt Lube, it is recommended that you degrease the chain and moving parts first, even if it's a new chain. Then, let the drivetrain dry. When it is dry, apply 1 or 2 layers of Squirt Lube to the chain and let it dry well before taking your bike out for a ride. Degreasing after your ride is not necessary. After an extremely dirty ride, simply wipe the chain with a cloth drenched in Squirt Lube. By doing this you can extend the life of your chain and sprockets up to 40%.
Biodegradable
Squirt Lube is 100% environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
Some dirt will accumulate on the jockey wheels, the front sprockets and the cassette cogs. This is a good sign; Squirt lube has removed the dirt from your chain! In contrast to other lubricants this does not have an abrasive effect on your parts: it doesn't hurt to let the dirt sit, but you can also brush it off. After a while small lumps of wax will appear between the openings of the chain; this means there is enough wax-building. From that moment on your drivetrain can handle hours of downpours, mud and sludge. And don't forget: never degrease your drivetrain again!
You don't need to lubricate your chain so often with Squirt, but you should still apply a layer once in a while. If you ride in the rain, for example, it is good to apply a little extra to prevent rust. How often re-applying is advised depends on how often you ride in bad conditions, so it's a bit up to your own judgement.
I feel Squirt Lube is not lubricating my chain properly, what can I do?
The most common reason why Squirt does not work optimally is because the chain has not been properly degreased before applying Squirt for the first time. Make sure your chain is really dry and free of grease before applying Squirt so that it can stick properly to the chain.

The perfect lubrication for racing bike chains
For me, Squirt Lube is the best choice for lubricating my road bike chain. After application, the chain moves nicely quietly through the drivetrain. No dirt sticks to the chain, which is the case with grease/oil.

First experience with wax is positive. Nice and clean. Am curious to see if the chain also lasts longer. And I cycle all the time. Am also curious about experiences during and after rain.
