Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • This latex inner tube enhances the tyre's properties such as grip, rolling resistance and comfort.
  • Since this inner tube is fully seamless, you have fewer weak spots than in other latex inner tubes.
  • This latex inner tube is lighter and more flexible than a butyl tube.
  • If used with a supple tyre, the Latex Race inner tube reduces your chance of a flat tyre.
  • The inner tube is compatible with 23 to 30 mm tyre widths.
  • As latex tubes lose pressure faster than butyl tubes, you should inflate the tyre before every ride.

5 / 5

flexible, strong and durable

- Ken 10 March 2026

I have been riding latex bibas on gravel and cyclocross bikes for more than 10 years. The big advantage is that the tyres are very flexible, so you can ride in narrower cyclocross tyres with quite little pressure, without too much risk of punctures. With regular butyl inner tubes I had punctures almost every ride, with these latex inner tubes almost never. I had to buy a few new ones, because the others were almost 10 years old and had loosened at the valve when inflating. You can - should you ever puncture anyway - also glue such a latex biba with glue and a tyre patch without any problems (although some claim that this is not possible).

Pros & Cons

last a long time
light
little chance of punctures
runs smoothly
strong
loses air, so tyres have to be inflated before every ride
more difficult to fit than butyl biba

3 / 5

Good latex tube with above-average valve, but small diameter.

- Björn 24 July 2025

fine latex tube, but as others have also said, actually too small for a 700 wheel. This makes installation trickier than it needs to be. The only reason to take these over the vittoria tubes is valve length.

Pros & Cons

good construction
low rolling resistance
relatively long valve for latex
small for a 700 wheel

This tyre is actually too small for 28-inch, hence a bit difficult to fit.
