Italian passion for enthusiasts

The Campagnolo company is built on 3 important pillars. The Culture, Identity and (Core) Values are the elements that still make the brand one of the largest in the bicycle cycling industry today. Over the past 80 years, the Campagnolo family, as well as all employees who put their heart and soul into their work every day, and of course enthusiastic cyclists have made Campagnolo what it is today. A brand for purists and enthusiasts. That's why the brand doesn't talk about clients or customers, but about people: you, as a cyclist.

History

The company was founded in 1933 by Tullio Campagnolo in Vicenza, Italy. An avid cyclist himself, he came up with ideas on how to improve cycling. For example, he designed the first version of the quick-release himself. Later, the first version of the derailleur was produced at the Campagnolo factory. The techniques used are still the standard today. Production increased sharply in the 1960s and 1970s, partly due to cooperation with car manufacturers. From the 1970s, Campagnolo enjoyed major successes in the cycling sport, in part thanks to people like Eddy Merckx. In the late 1980s, the brand faced fierce competition from rival brand Shimano. The company introduced the first carbon and titanium groupset components in the 90s, which can still be found on the market today - although now redesigned using the latest technology.

Italian

Campagnolo originates from Italy and the company is proud of that. It continues to maintain Italian quality, designing and producing everything with passion and love for bikes and cyclists. That's why it's a must for many to finish an Italian bike with a Campagnolo groupset. Under the motto: an Italian should be Italian.

Quality

Campagnolo is best known for its quality, like flawless and seamless shifting with a simple, light movement. The same thing over and over again without any trouble. They use the best materials for the best groupsets. Carbon components to keep the weight as low as possible, but also to guarantee strength and rigidity. There is only one drawback: all of this often comes with a price tag. But that's no problem for enthusiasts, because the difference is clearly noticeable.
