Italian passion for enthusiasts

The Campagnolo company is built on 3 important pillars. The Culture, Identity and (Core) Values are the elements that still make the brand one of the largest in the bicycle cycling industry today. Over the past 80 years, the Campagnolo family, all the employees who put their heart and soul into their work every day, and of course the enthusiastic cyclists, have made Campagnolo what it is today. A brand for enthusiasts and purists. The brand therefore does not speak about clients or customers, but about people, you, a cyclist.

History

The company was founded in 1933 by Tullio Campagnolo in Vicenza, Italy. As a cycling fanatic he came up with ideas how things could be improved. He designed the first version of the quick-release himself. After that, the first version of the derailleur was produced at the Campagnolo factory. The techniques used are ones which are still seen as the standard today. Production increased sharply in the 1960s and 1970s, partly due to cooperation with car manufacturers. From the 1970s, Campagnolo had great successes in cycling, in part thanks to people like Eddy Merckx. In the late 1980s, the brand faced fierce competition from rival Shimano. Beginning in the 1990s, the company introduced the first carbon and titanium groupset components that can still be found on the market today (although now further developed with the latest technology).

Italian

Campagnolo originated in Italy and the company is proud of that. It maintains the Italian quality, where everything is still designed and produced with a passion and love for the bicycle and cyclist. For many it is therefore a 'must' to assemble an Italian bicycle with a Campagnolo group. Under the motto: An Italian should be Italian.

Quality

Campagnolo is best known for its quality. Flawless and seamless shifting with a simple light movement. The same thing over and over without any trouble. The best materials are used for the best groups. Carbon components to keep the weight as low as possible, but also to guarantee strength and stiffness. There is only one drawback, all of carbon often comes with a price tag. But for enthusiasts this is no problem, because the difference is clearly noticeable.
