Scott has further developed the HMF carbon fibre – already widely used in the cycling industry – into HMX. For you, this means that this frame is extremely light without compromising on stiffness: You can feel every pedal stroke immediately, whether you are tackling a climb or launching into a sprint.

Fully integrated cable routing for electronic gear shifting

The cables from your electronic groupset run through the frame and fork. Scott has designed this in such a way that shifting, braking and the stiffness of the headtube are not compromised. Replacing a cable or servicing the frame remains surprisingly straightforward.

Aerodynamic D-shaped seatpost

The included Syncros SP-R101-CF seatpost is D-shaped rather than round. This reduces aerodynamic drag and weight, in combination with a seatpost clamp weighing just 12 grams. Please note: This means you cannot use a standard round seatpost from another brand.

Compatible with:

• Electronic groupsets (Shimano Di2); no mechanical shifters or derailleurs
• Tyre widths up to 34 mm
• 160 or 180 mm front disc brake rotors (180 mm requires an adapter) and 140 or 160 mm rear disc brake rotors (160 mm requires an adapter)
• BB86 press-fit bottom bracket
• Hub mounting width 12 x 100 mm at the front and 12 x 142 mm at the rear

Not compatible with:

• Mechanical groupsets – the fully integrated cable routing leaves no room for mechanical cables;
• Standard round 27.2 mm seatposts – the included Syncros SP-R101-CF seatpost is aero/D-shaped;
• Standard stems without integrated cable routing – this frame has a 1 1/16 inch head tube size and requires a stem designed for this, such as the Syncros ST-R100-AL stem.

Before ordering parts, check the head tube size on your current bike (while 1 1/8 inch is the most common, this frame requires 1 1/16 inch) and whether you use mechanical or electronic gear shifting. If you are unsure about stem length, assume it is the same length as your current stem if your bike fit isn’t changing. As this frame doesn’t accept a standard stem, it is best to order the Syncros ST-R100-AL stem straight away; that way, your frame will be complete in one go.

• Always tighten carbon components using a Torque wrench; over-tightening is the most common cause of damage to carbon frames.
• Have the headset bearings checked regularly, especially if you often cycle in the rain.
