The Continental Race King ProTection MTB tyres are one of the fastest mountain bike tyres by using low knobs in high numbers. ProTection
Also called the fourth layer. This technology preserves speed and grip due to the Black Chili Compound, but, above all, offers a great deal of puncture protection. The extra layer around the whole tyre carcass provides full protection. The additional function of the ProTection technology is that the tyre is Tubeless Ready. The Tubeless Ready heel is the perfect base for uncomplicated and easy tyre mounting.

Black Chili Compound
A secret recipe for making the compound. The tyre's soul, as Continental calls it. A mix of basic raw materials which determines rolling resistance and grip. The tyres with BlackChili compound are from the top segment of Continental. This type of tyre allows for high grip and low rolling resistance.

UST Tubeless
Tubes are superfluous due to the UST Tubeless technology. Continental tubeless tyres can be fitted on all UST rims. The tyre and rim form an airtight chamber without a tube. The annoying “snakebite” is simply no longer possible. You can also ride with a lower tyre pressure, which means more comfort and grip, who wouldn’t want that? The airtight layer on the inside of the tyre can easily be repaired with ordinary repair material in the event of a puncture.
