Upgrades
This bike computer now includes a 64 colour screen with high contrast, allowing you to easily read your data in all light and weather conditions. For example, the internal memory has been increased to 32 GB. An additional benefit of this is that there is now even more map data on the Wahoo. The v2's charging port is USB-C, which also significantly increases the charging speed.
Climbing function
Thanks to the new Climbing function, you can see the slope and gradient in advance. Through the colours indicated, you can see approximately how tough it's going to be during the climb.
Turn by turn navigation
Smart navigation features ensure you always arrive at your destination. Turn-by-turn directions are clearly indicated by both on-screen prompts and sounds. If you do accidentally miss a turn or deviate from your route, the ELEMNT ROAM v2 will guide you back to your route. Furthermore, the ELEMNT ROAM v2 has the ability to navigate you to the starting point of a route, or even create a route for you based on a location on the map. The Wahoo has the ability to connect to a legion of satellites, GPS, GALLILEO & GLONASS and Dual Band GPS. Perfect satellite coverage is therefore guaranteed anywhere in the world, even in challenging environments where signals may have been obstructed by dense trees or buildings.
Readability
Wahoo has equipped its ELEMNT ROAM v2 with a crystal-clear 2.7" colour screen, with a resolution of 240x400 pixels. The display of the screen can be compared to an e-reader and gives you sharp viewing and visibility even in full sunlight. The Gorilla Glass is super strong and scratch-resistant. The built-in light sensor measures the amount of light, adjusting the backlight of your colour screen accordingly. This ensures you always have good visibility, and does not put unnecessary strain on the ROAM's battery. With normal use, the battery life is around 17 hours.
Waterproofing
The Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM v2 is IPX7 waterproof, meaning it's protected against the worst weather conditions. It is no problem if you accidentally drop the bike navigation in a puddle of water. The ELEMNT ROAM v2 will keep the water out when submerged to at least 1 metre deep for 30 minutes.
Connectivity
Connectivity and ease of use is paramount to Wahoo's developers. You simply connect the ELEMNT ROAM v2 bike computer to your smartphone or Wahoo bike trainer via Bluetooth, or directly to the internet via the built-in WiFi receiver. In addition, the ROAM v2 also features ANT+ connectivity. The buttons on the bottom and side of the ROAM allow you to easily scroll through all its menus. Once the Wahoo is connected to the Wahoo ELEMNT App, you easily adjust settings, configure training schedules, link sensors and easily upload routes from, for example, Wahoo SYSTM, Strava, Komoot or RideWithGPS. Plus, wirelessly save your ride history and automatically sync workouts to your favourite training apps.
Livetrack and Strava Live Segments
Furthermore, the ROAM v2 has plenty of smart features. Through Live Track, your friends can easily follow you, and you'll see other Wahoo users appear on your map in real-time. Getting a call or receiving an email? Through pop-ups, the ELEMNT ROAM v2 can show you all incoming messages, if desired. Also, the connection to Strava Live Segments ensures that you are always aware of segments near you.
Use the simple interface of your smartphone via the accompanying app to change your settings, to configure training schedules, and to connect sensors. Save your ride history easily and automatically sync your workouts with your favourite training apps.
SMART NAVIGATION

• Instruction manual
Yes, this is possible for various applications. Of course, you can link Strava to Wahoo and also Komoot and Ride with GPS, among others.
What accessories can I connect to my Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM v2?
Common sensors you can pair are heart rate monitor, speedometer and cadence meter. These are available from Wahoo, but feel free to use sensors from other brands as well. Make sure the connection signal is correct, i.e. Bluetooth or ANT+. You can also link power meters to the ELEMNT ROAM.
Can I use my Garmin mount with my Wahoo unit?
No, that is unfortunately not possible. Because the fit is slightly different, you will need a specific Wahoo mount.

A very good and fine bike computer
After several weeks of use, I can't live without it. The GPS works fine in the woods. The screen contains a lot of info, but not too much and is easy to read even in the sun. The battery lasts a very long time before needing to be recharged.

Wonderful, simple cycling gps
Did the upgrade after two years of Bolt V2. As my eyes are getting a bit dimmer, the Roam's larger screen is definitely a plus. I briefly had a Garmin Edge 840 solar in between and that was one month of frustration. This Roam was another breath of fresh air. Everything can be controlled via the app via clear and simple menus. After just a few minutes, you can be out and about with the Roam. Very easy to set up. The navigation is just great. Rarely, if ever, does the GPS run into problems. Only if you make a route that crosses itself several times can the wahoo get confused for a while. But recalculating the route is very fast and logical. It doesn't just try to handlebars, bars you back like my Garmin constantly did. Screen is nice and clear. Battery life more than sufficient if you don't go bikepacking and can't find a power socket for days. Two downsides: 1. The tether should just come with it. What nonsense to pay another 15 euros for it separately. Fortunately, 3D printers exist nowadays. 2. Navigating the map without a touchscreen is a bit cumbersome. I usually take my mobile phone and maps with it.
