Universally applicable due to the modern, athletic look
The Shimano PD-ES600 pedals have an athletic look and have Shimano SPD compatibility. That means you can use your familiar mountain bike or spinning shoes on your road bike or hybrid bike.
Low-profile and adjustable tension
The Shimano PD-ES600 pedals have been designed with a wide platform for efficient power transfer of SPD shoes. As your shoe has a larger contact area, you'll have better ankle stability, and these pedals will feel very reliable. Plus, the pedals have a low profile and a single-sided design. This means you can only clip in on one side, which could take some getting used to. The convenient design ensures the pedal will automatically take on the correct position, because the heaviest parts of the pedal are placed "behind" the axle.
These pedals also feature an adjustment bolt which you can use to alter the pedal's spring tension using an Allen key. This allows you to determine whether you'd like your shoes to be tightly secured for an athletic ride, or whether you'd like to clip in and out easily for a city ride.
• Clipping in on one side only
• Aluminium pedal body
• Low maintenance bearings
• Weight: about 279 g (per pair)
• 1 pair
• Including SH 51 cleats

good compromise between MTB standard (SPD) and Road (SPD-SL)
i switch from SPD-SL standard to these pedals (SPD) on my road bike to have more comfortable shoes for commuting/short walk. these pedals are very similar to road bike ones with a good surface for your feet. clipping/unclipping is very easy and, even if the mechanism on only one side of the pedal, the operation is very smooth. cleats are included. not very comfortable with "normal" shoes but they are not expected to be used without proper shoes

Great pedals
Super nice pedals with easy clicks and a good fit, also for your knees. Looks a bit like cross pedals but only clicks in on one side. So you can use them with cross shoes but also with race shoes for spd. You can also adjust the spring.

Sturdy and user-friendly pedals.
Pedals are fine to use. On touring rides, using spd shoes while checking and walking afterwards is fine.
