Optimal lubrication with pure wax
To treat the chain, heat the wax to a temperature of 75°C to 85°C, or place the bag into a pan with boiling water. Once the wax is completely liquid, fully submerge the chain (which has been thoroughly cleaned of all grease and dirt beforehand). The melted wax fills in all the microscopic imperfections in the metal, preventing metal-on-metal contact, which drastically reduces frictional resistance and prevents unnecessary energy loss. A single treatment requires only a few grams of wax. The remaining wax in the pan hardens again and can be remelted and reused multiple times afterwards.

The difference between Hot Wax and Drip Wax
Although liquid "drip wax" is very popular among cyclists in general, pure "hot wax" offers concrete advantages for performance cyclists. Standard drip wax is mixed with a liquid to enable application from a bottle. After dripping, this liquid evaporates within a few hours. The major drawback of this is that the gaps in the chain are never completely filled with wax; once the liquid has evaporated, microscopic voids always reappear, allowing dirt and sand to become lodged there. Over time, this causes wear and increases pedalling resistance. CyclOn Pro Chain Hot Wax, on the other hand, consists of 100% pure wax. By immersing the entire chain in the hot bath, you apply a solid layer in one go. All the openings and tiniest cavities in the chain are completely and thoroughly filled, leaving no space for dirt to adhere.

How to use:
• Use a pan or a wax heater to heat the CyclOn Pro Chain Hot Wax.
• Once the water is boiling, place the bag into the pan.
• Clean the chain in a container with chain degreaser to completely remove any grease residue.
• Dry the chain thoroughly and clean it with a cloth and/or compressed air. Take a steel wire and hook it through the ends of the chain.
• Place the chain in the open bag of Pro Chain Hot Wax and move it back and forth or shake it.
• Remove the chain from the wax and hang it up overnight to dry, with a drip tray underneath.
• Once the wax has set, the chain will have hardened.
• To make the chain move again, gently break the links apart one by one with your hands.
• When the chain is moving freely again, adjust it to the correct length, if necessary, then install it on your bike using a chain tool and a connecting pin or missing link.
