Good pliers
The pliers are ideal for opening and closing the chain. Ideal for getting started with waxing.

Good for opening, not closing
For opening the missing link, the pliers worked fine, but closing it was impossible. The pliers had reached their maximum open position and the link was only half closed. It would be more convenient if there was no or a very generous limit on this. Still inconvenient because closing is an essential part of replacing the missing link. Having others try it too, the force required really wasn't the issue.

Makes it easy to open and close a missing link. You won't succeed with standard pliers/tip pliers. So if you're going to replace a chain make sure you have one.
