The Cortina U4 Transport Bike has a back-pedal brake, which requires little maintenance because it is hardly exposed to the weather. But do note that there are no hand brakes on this bike.

The Cortina U4 takes you everywhere, is impact-resistant and can transport lots of luggage on the front and rear carriers. Perfect for a day of shopping. My son started high school and needed a sturdy bike, so we bought the Cortina U4 Transport R3. Call it old-fashioned, but we don't think an electric version is that necessary and a fatbike is out of the question. This old-fashioned sturdy bike proved perfect for his daily rides, with a stylish design and handy front rack for his school bag with laptop. Although the bike's heavy weight is still a bit of a challenge for him, the three gears bring a nice solution on the longer ride to school. He is satisfied as the bike was reliable and sturdy for his daily trips to school. The compromise between style and functionality ultimately proved to be the right choice for him.
