This derailleur is equipped with a clutch, which allows the derailleur to keep the chain tension better in rough terrain. This derailleur also works beautifully with the 12-speed SLX shifter. Thanks to Rapidfire Plus technology, this derailleur will shift quickly and precisely, even when the conditions are rough and demanding. Shimano recommends this derailleur for good reason for cross-country, trail and enduro use.
A common problem is a warped derailleur hanger. This can be caused by the derailleur coming into contact with something hard, for example during a fall. Fortunately, this can be repaired! Find out more here.
Make sure you clean your derailleur pulleys too!
Like the chain, derailleur pulleys get very dirty. This makes for a less enjoyable ride and doesn't help with the durability of your drivetrain. Therefore, when cleaning the chain and / or oiling the chain, it is advisable to also clean the derailleur pulleys. Do this by gently turning the chain while you run a cloth along the derailleur wheel. However, at some point the derailleur wheels will be worn out. Price/quality ratio is really very good. Personally, I hardly notice the difference with an XT derailleur. Mounting is easy to do, just take pictures beforehand!

The SLX M7100 rear derailleur compared to previous versions of SLX shifters is definitely improved. It is an excellent competitor to the XT M8100 version, trying one or the other on the same bike you will not notice any difference. It is therefore compatible with the entire SLX XT XTR range and is replaceable without any changes to other components on the bike. It is easily mounted, after attaching it to the dropout with only the support screw that is present you only need to make the minimum and maximum end-stroke calibrations and after connecting the cable adjust the stem with the screw that controls its Z parameter
