Post Mount |
You can easily mount the shifter to the brake thanks to Shimano's I-Spec EV technology. I-Spec EV technology also allows you to adjust the shifter's position both horizontally and vertically, so it will be in the best position for you.
Shimano Ice Technology
Thanks to Shimano Ice Technology, heat is better dissipated after intense and/or prolonged braking. With better heat dissipation, this brake set is less likely to overheat on longer descents. This not only improves braking power after longer braking, but also extends the life of your brake pads!
Delivered as J-Kit
These Shimano Deore BR-M6100 hydraulic disc brakes come as a J-Kit. This means that the line is fitted to the caliper and bled, but not yet attached to the brake lever. This makes this set also suitable for mountain bikes with internal cable routing. Furthermore, the J-Kit also makes it possible to use the left brake lever with the rear caliper and vice versa.
If you come from a different brand of disc brakes or want to fit a different size of rotors, you will need a different adapter between frame and caliper.
You can find these adapters here.

A solid caliper combination
The first thing I noticed was that the caliper is wider than my previous one, but fortunately it fitted. With the instructions on the shimano website, the job was done in no time. Note that you still have to install the brake handle on the hose attached to the caliper. It is possible to make the hose shorter, but I didn't go that route, which also makes the installation considerably easier. After braking my new brake system in properly, the whole thing felt like new all over again! :)
