The combination of low weight and the use of a DT Swiss 350 hub makes for a very durable and high-quality wheel set. Thanks to the ratchet body, you can get the wheels going very quickly. In contrast to a conventional 3-pawl system, a ratchet freewheel engages super quickly. Thus, you lose little power when you press your feet down on the pedals. The DT Swiss hubs have been known for years as one of the best in terms of durability and sealing. So if you are looking for a sturdy, reliable and lightweight wheel set, the DT Swiss PR 1600 Spline 23 is definitely something for you!
DT Swiss 350 hub
Those looking for the most affordable high-performance hubs available should take a closer look at the 350 hubs. The 350 hub offers the same performance as the more high-end hubs, but is built with slightly heavier components to provide the same reliability at a much lower cost. The patented ratchet freehub system offers very fast power transfer and guarantees top performance and reliability. This system can be disassembled and maintained without tools.
Pro Lock spoke nipples
Pro Lock is a process where a patented dual-compound adhesive liquid is injected into the nipple thread, allowing for extremely durable wheel builds. When the nipple is threaded onto the spoke the adhesive is activated and begins to harden. Re-truing the wheel is still possible after the adhesive has hardened completely, with only a minimal decrease of its thread-lock function. Thus, the wheels retain much better spoke tension for a long time. This improves wheel durability and proper spoke tension up to 20 times compared to wheels with no Pro Lock nipples.
Tubeless ready
The DT Swiss PR 1600 Spline 23 road bike wheels have tubeless-ready rims to allow you to ride with tubeless tyres and latex. This set-up minimises the chance of getting a flat tyre. Should a puncture occur, the latex seals the hole within seconds. Other advantages of riding tubeless include lower rolling resistance, more comfort and better grip. Of course, it is also possible to fit your good old folding tyres with inner tubes.
• DT Swiss Tubeless valves 32 mm high
• DT Swiss Tubeless rim tape 21 mm wide
• DT Swiss RWS quick releases
• Valve core removal tool
• (Possibly a torque wrench)
Installing a cassette on a wheel is easy if you have the right tools. If you purchase a cassette remover with a Shimano fit, you will be able to mount either a Shimano or Sram cassette on your rear wheel. Please note! For a Campagnolo cassette you need the Campagnolo tool. If you have a Shimano 9/10-speed cassette, first slide the spacer over the body. Then you place the cassette on the body. This can only be done in one way because of the fit of the body. Finally you turn the washer straight on by hand and tighten it with the cassette tool. Cassettes aren’t easily overtightened, but if you want you can use a torque wrench for this.
• For Shimano 9/10-speed, do not forget to mount the spacer first before installing the cassette.
• Make sure the rim tape is stuck well in the rim.

High quality wheel set at a good price
Unfortunately shortly before the vacation a defective wheel, ordered this set of rims from Mantel. The next day with all accessories in house. The silver hubs is something that has to suit your bike but on me it looks perfect. Highly recommended
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
DT Swiss wheels are highly recommended
Considered alternatives but finally took advice from very experienced wheel rider.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Product possibly "stock"
I found on the side of the rim 2 small holes and a small crease on one edge (definitely not attributable to transportation). I did not request a replacement only because the product is hard to find and I needed it immediately instead.
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
High-level upgrade at a reasonable price
Excellent quality price. Very light wheels with excellent smoothness. DT Swiss freewheel in addition to providing excellent performance 'sounds' like a wonder. Not yet tested with tubeless mounting, but I recommend without a doubt.
4 / 5
Good value for money for climbing wheels
After my old wheels 'ran out', I was looking for new wheels. Preferably wheels that were light and thus especially suitable for hilly and mountainous terrain. I also didn't want to spend too much money on them. After some searching I ended up with this DT Swiss set. A perfect set for me on paper and, as I have now experienced, also in practice. It cycles comfortably and fast. They are very suitable for accelerating uphill I have noticed. I have not yet tested them in the mountains, but I am confident about that too.
