The Shimano WH-RS300 road bike wheels are part of Shimano’s 105 R7000 series. The wheels have a very neat finish for a set in this price segment. These aluminium Shimano WH-RS300 wheels are built with low 24 mm rims. The long RVS straight-pull spokes offer plenty of comfort. Despite this, the wheels have high torsional rigidity, which increases acceleration.
The wide rim offers stability, yet has an aerodynamic shape. Combined with the aero spokes, this ensures the wind will have less effect on the wheels. The famous Shimano cup-cone bearings have a low rolling resistance and are easy to maintain. The Shimano WH-RS300 wheels are ideal for daily use, as a training wheelset, or spare wheels during winter.

Installing a cassette on a wheel is easy if you have the right tools. If you purchase a cassette remover with a Shimano fit, you will be able to mount either a Shimano or Sram cassette on your rear wheel. Please note! For a Campagnolo cassette you need the Campagnolo tool. If you have a Shimano 9/10-speed cassette, first slide the spacer over the body. Then you place the cassette on the body. This can only be done in one way because of the fit of the body. Finally you turn the washer straight on by hand and tighten it with the cassette tool. Cassettes aren’t easily overtightened, but if you want you can use a torque wrench for this.
• For Shimano 9/10-speed, do not forget to mount the spacer first before installing the cassette.
• Make sure the rim tape is stuck well in the rim.

I had the old rs11 model, almost identical, with the same number of spokes, flat, rim profile a few millimetres narrower and less profile, which lasted me many years and kilometres until it cracked due to fatigue, with so much abuse on bumpy roads. In several tens of thousands of kilometres it never went off-centre. I did not hesitate to buy this SHIMANO model, which is an improved version. If you don't mind the weight, or if it's for training, don't hesitate.
