Description

Description

The Maxxis Assegai 3C MaxxTerra EXO+ TR is the most puncture-resistant Enduro/Trail variant of the signature downhill MTB tyres of three-time world champion Greg Minnaar. The Assegai was named after the type of spear used by the Zulus, an African warrior people. This tyre is made for the most technical trails with treacherous hard or loose rocky surfaces. Thanks to the EXO+ Protection layers, it is incredibly sturdy and can stand up to quite a bit of punishment. You can therefore confidently push it to the limits in order to keep to the ideal racing line.

Technology

3C MaxxTerra
The 3C MaxxTerra is the intermediate compound in terms of hardness of Maxxis' Triple Maxx Compounds. The 3C MaxxTerra is softer and offers more traction than MaxxSpeed, and is more durable and faster than MaxxGrip. This gives you the best of both worlds.

EXO Plus Protection
EXO+ Protection combines two puncture protection materials, SilkShield and EXO. The SilkShield layer runs from bead to bead, offering puncture protection all over the tread. The EXO Protection layer is a flexible, lichtweight layer in the tyre's sidewall that protects the tyre against cuts from the side. Combined, the SilkShield and EXO Protection offer the best possible puncture protection!

Tubeless Ready
This Maxxis Assegai EXO+ TR tyre is ready for tubeless riding, that is, it can be used without an inner tube. This has many important advantages such as lower rolling resistance, more grip, more control and more comfort.

Good downhill and enduro tire

- Fietsfanaat 21 September 2022

Perfect tire to use as a front tire with, for example, a Minion DHRII as a rear tire. Has phenomenal grip and is therefore good to use in bikeparks for example. Only because of the coarse profile it has a high rolling resistance, so it might not be the ideal tire for your standard forest tour in the Netherlands.

Good downhill tires

- Thierry 11 September 2022

Negative point the output, but so much the banana in the descent that it largely compensates for the output!!!!
