This Emonda SL 5 is equipped with disc brakes, so it not only climbs fine, but also descends great. Thanks to its lightweight and stiff frame, the bike reacts very well to changes in speed, when accelerating after a turn, in sprints or when climbing.
Where the Emonda SL 5 also performs well are the rides in poor conditions and fast descents where you can fall back on the Shimano 105 disc brakes. These brakes are extremely dosed and the shape of the shifter is designed so that it grips nicely. The 105 shifter performs at a very high level. The Bontrager Affinity wheel set is solid and has nice wide rims so the tyre "curves" well on the rim. The wide rim supports the wide 28 mm tyre excellently, this gives optimal steering performance.
