Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- The Ergowave technology makes this saddle very comfortable.
- This saddle is light, so it adds no unnecessary weight to your bike.
- The narrow, flat nose provides sufficient freedom of movement when in a deep, aerodynamic position.
- The stiff padding allows excellent power transfer.
- Due to the flexibility, fluctuations in the hip are absorbed without affecting the power transfer.
- This saddle flexs less with the pedaling movement compared to the Active series.
- The flex is most ideal for weights up to 75 kg, with a maximum of 90 kg. So many cyclists will not experience the most ideal flex.
- As this is a hard saddle, you will need long and frequent rides to get used to it. It offers the best support for longer rides. If you ride less than three times a week, you need a softer saddle that offers more comfort.

The Ergowave design of the SQlab saddles looks a bit like a wave. The raised back of the saddle provides a lot of support and optimal pressure distribution while cycling. This leads to a more comfortable ride and better power transfer. The front of the saddle is lower, so that you do not touch the saddle with the front of your body. In combination with the recess in the middle of this saddle, this shape ensures that you do not get pain in the soft tissue areas, even when you ride in an aerodynamic position!
Optimum support and flex
This saddle moves with you while cycling. This gives you extra support and absorbs fluctuations in the hip. Cyclists who tend to move around a lot will be more still, which improves cycling comfort and reduces the risk of injuries.
This flex is most ideal for cyclists up to 75 kg. The maximum weight of the riders on this saddle is 90 kg.

For longer distances, this is a fine saddle.
I was looking for a good saddle for my holiday bike for long distances. I had a fairly soft saddle. After a few hours of cycling, my buttocks started to hurt. So I looked for a harder saddle and one that would fit. An excellent saddle and an improvement!

Fantastic saddle!
Mantel showed excellent goodwill when it turned out I had bought a size too small. The saddle itself I should have bought years ago - So fine! I am suddenly sitting on my sit bones instead of a larger area which makes me many times more comfortable getting off my plastic steed, even on 3hr+ tours. I ended up with a 13.2 cm seat bone width on a size 15 on a slightly aggressive frame ratio.

Potentially a fine saddle, but unusable for me due to too long front end
The saddle sits well, and the first ride was fine in terms of seating. However, the saddle is far too long at the front for me, causing me to hit the saddle with the inside of my legs. Changing the position of the saddle does not solve this unfortunately, and for me reason to return the saddle again.

nice saddle
I used to get pain in my buttocks after about 1 hour of cycling. Now no more. Top!!!

Relief after weeks of painful rides
I bought this saddle on the recommendation of my sports physiotherapist. Had an abscess in groin due to too small saddle and too much sitting on nose of previous saddle. Got this saddle slightly raised at the front. So that the sit bones sit on the rear part of the saddle and also stay on during a ride. My groin hardly touches the front anymore. Highly recommended.
