Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- Mudguards are fitted as standard, so you can set off straight away without getting wet.
- The 11-46T cassette gives you a great many options for both steep climbs and flat sections.
- Recessed cables at the brake levers (Clean Cockpit) make for a sleek and tidy look.
- The Tektro HD-R3020 brakes are entry-level hydraulic disc brakes whose modulation is not as good as in higher-spec braking systems.
- The Shimano CUES drivetrain is fitted here in a 9-speed version, which offers less precise gear changes than an 11- or 12-speed groupset.

The Scott Metrix 30 EQ fitness bike is a great choice for riders looking to get from A to B quickly and comfortably, whether it’s the daily commute to work or a long weekend ride. Weighing just 11.5 kg, it is light for a bike that comes with mudguards as standard, and the Shimano CUES groupset with a wide 11-46T cassette gives you plenty of gear range for everything from steep hills to long straight stretches.
Easy-to-replace UDH
This universal derailleur hanger is available at the great majority of bike shops in the world. If it should break off in a fall, you will be able to get a replacement very soon.
Metrix HMF Disc fork with carbon steerer tube
The eccentric carbon steerer tube in the fork absorbs vibrations from the road surface very well, making longer rides more comfortable without compromising handling.
Clean Cockpit brake levers
The cables of the Tektro HD-R3020 brake levers are well concealed, ensuring tidy handlebars with no loose wiring that could get caught or wear out.
Who is this bike for?
- Riders who mainly cycle on-road and are looking for a bike that is faster than a city bike and more comfortable than a road bike.
- Riders who want a bike that is ready to ride straight away, with mudguards already fitted, for their commute, for example.
When to consider a different model?
- If you are planning to ride on dirt roads or even go fully off-road – in that case, a gravel or mountain bike will be a better choice than this fitness bike with 40 mm smooth tyres.
Included as standard:
- Syncros Urban platform pedals
- Mudguards (Syncros Fender Kit)
Not included / still required or useful:
If you opt for home delivery (available in the Netherlands and Belgium), you will receive your new Scott Metrix 30 EQ fitness bike ready to ride. The delivery driver will unpack the bike, fit the pedals and straighten the handlebars so that you can hit the road straight away. If you want to adjust anything yourself, such as the saddle height, you can do so in a few minutes using an Allen key.
- Check the pressure of your Schwalbe G-One Comp tyres regularly – it makes a difference to rolling resistance and comfort.
- Have the Tektro brakes checked annually, especially if you use your bike a lot for your commute.
- Clean the chain regularly with a chain cleaner, especially after wet rides.
