De Aerothan binnenband is volledig vervaardigd uit thermoplastisch polyurethaan (TPU) van BASF. De constructie van TPU zorgt ervoor dat de band aanzienlijk lichter is dan butyl binnenbanden. Een ander voordeel van TPU binnenbanden is de vermindering van de rolweerstand ten opzichte van een normale butyl binnenband.
