Doesn’t fit properly on the luggage rack

Managed to fit it together with a bit of fiddling. It works, but it doesn’t fit properly.

This carrier is only suitable for carrying (not too large) school backpacks upright, provided you use another strap: As is well known, it is too slippery for the buckle used and thus quickly becomes loose; backpack with laptop dropped.... Upright means: Only for girls bikes, because you can't get your leg over the backpack when getting off. Who will make a longer carrier, with slightly raised sides (fold out?) and a sturdy clamp, that can hold a backpack flat?
