Recommended for group rides on bike paths, not so much for commuting

I bought these as a durable commuter tyre. They are fast, but anything but durable. Already have a lot of damage on the centre thread. No puncture yet after 1000km though. Photo attached, on the same tyre I have another 7 places with the same damage after 1000km. Took the glass out without a puncture, but it sticks in very easily. Thick but soft rubber.

Good looks
Low rolling resistance, fast
Puncture-resistant, after 1000km 0 flat
A lot of glass gets stuck in it though
Even after 500km, with conti 4 season only after 5k
Every day I take shards out, deep cuts
Matter of time before I get a puncture
