Handy tool for difficult tyres

- Alexander, 25 April, 2025

Indispensable tool for tyres that are impossible to put on the rim by hand. With this tool, it usually succeeds, although sometimes still with a lot of effort.

Effective product (cheers are allowed)

- skander, 19 June, 2024

You can apply good force with this. Even if the tyre is very tight you can get it on. The pliers fit well in the rim rim and on the other side you squeeze the tyre on. Damaging stickers happens less quickly than with the Tyre Glider. And this one is cheaper . You won't easily damage the rim because the Tyre Glider is plastic. My narrowest tyre is 28 mm. Narrower ones usually go harder on the rim so I have no experience with that.

Pros & Cons

lightweight
can damage stickers

Saves a lot of time and sore hands.

- Lelie, 29 June, 2023

Using this tool, I managed to get a very stiff MTB tire on my rim all by myself. Just make sure you watch a tutorial on Youtube that explains how to do it with the pliers. It takes a bit of technique, but once you have mastered it, it will be on your rim in no time. A flexible tire can be put on in no time with the pliers.

Pros & Cons

Fine with very stiff tires
For MTB as well as race/gravel tires
No painful hands
Sometimes requires some technique

Fulfills its role even on stubborn tires, but leaves marks on the wheel

- Thomas, 12 June, 2021

A product that serves its purpose, allowing you to mount tires that can't be mounted by hand. But the problem is that when you need a tool like this, even with it, you have to force it, which leaves marks on the wheels... So use this product as a last resort. If you can use your hands, at least they won't damage or mark your wheels.

Pros & Cons

Effective
Leaves marks on the wheel

Handy tool but too big to carry around

- Maurice, 21 July, 2020

Handy tool, especially for home and for new tires that are more difficult to put on the rim at first. A piece of cake and no more sore fingers.

Pros & Cons

Does what it needs to do
Price
Saves sore fingers and annoyance
Looks a bit fragile, life expectancy remains to be seen
Too big to carry
