Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- With the Shimano GRX 1x12 groupset, it is easier to use your full gear range on technical terrain than with a 2x system.
- The huge 10-51T cassette gives you a wide gear range for flat straights to steep climbs.
- With a carbon fork and aluminium frame, the bike effectively dampens vibrations.
- The frame includes multiple mounting points, so you can easily attach bags or a lowrider luggage system.
- As this is a single-chainring system, the jumps between the gears are relatively large.

The KTM Gravelator 15 gravel bike is fitted with Shimano's electronic GRX 1x12 groupset, designed for riders who want precise and fast gear changes without cables that can stretch. The aluminium frame with a UDH derailleur hanger is fitted with a carbon fork for greater damping, and the massive 10-51T cassette gives you a wide gear range for both steep climbs and flat sections.
Choose the Gravelator 15 if you want to step up within the Gravelator range – it gives you the same reliable aluminium frame as the Gravelator 25 and 30 but uses the genuine GRX gravel groupset instead of the Cues drivetrains found on those models.

Shimano GRX 1x12 groupset
GRX is the groupset range specifically developed for gravel cycling by Shimano. With a single chainring (40T) and the wide 10–51T cassette, you get a huge gear range without the complexity of a front derailleur.
UDH derailleur hanger
This universal derailleur hanger is available at virtually every bike shop worldwide. If it should snap off in a fall, you will be able to use your bike again very soon.
Carbon fork
The combination of an aluminium frame and a carbon fork improves front-end damping, so you will feel fewer small bumps through the handlebars on rough or unpaved terrain.
Who is this bike for?
- Riders looking for a gravel bike with a genuine Shimano GRX groupset designed specifically for gravel riding.
- Riders who want a great gear range for fast flat sections to steep climbs.
- Riders who like to go both on- and off-road.
When to consider a different model?
- If a Cues drivetrain is sufficient for you instead of GRX, the Gravelator 25 or Gravelator 30 are more affordable alternatives.
- If you are looking for a lighter, more comfortable frame that absorbs vibrations better, a carbon gravel bike such as the KTM Gravelator Elite may be a better choice.

What is the difference between the KTM Gravelator 15 and the KTM Gravelator 25?
The Gravelator 15 features the Shimano GRX 1x12 groupset, specifically developed for gravel riding, whilst the Gravelator 25 is fitted with the Shimano Cues 1x11 groupset. Both come with similar 10/11-50T cassettes, but GRX is Shimano’s more performance-oriented range.
Does the KTM Gravelator 15 have a replaceable derailleur hanger?
Yes, it comes with the UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger), which is available from virtually any bike shop worldwide should it get damaged in a fall.
