Frame, fork and wheels
In terms of geometry and technology, the frame of the Tesoro Neo X 3 is very similar to a mountain bike frame. It will give you a slightly active sitting position, which can be slightly adjusted with the adjustable stem though. Because the rear fork is asymmetrical, there is more tyre clearance. The rear tyre has an impressive 60 mm width as well as studs to allow you to venture onto the better unpaved paths. These tyres also damp any bump or unevenness you may encounter. The suspension SR Suntour fork, with 100mm of travel, and the suspension seat post provide even more comfort and off-road capability. To ensure a light and sporty frame, Cannondale use their SmartForm technology which creates varying thicknesses for the frame tubes. At stress points the material is thicker to maintain the frame's rigidity, while the thinner sections ensure the frame's low weight. The special welding technique and heat treatment make for a robust E-bike.

E-bike technology
The powerful Bosch Performance Line mid-motor delivers 65Nm and gives you enough power to ride through sand and gravel and over hills. Combined with the 500Wh PowerTube battery, this provides a realistic range of approximately 90 on-road kilometres or 75 off-road kilometres. This makes this bike suitable for a fairly long tour or the daily commute. This E-bike has a Bosch Purion display. While this is Bosch's least extensive system, it displays the most basic information very clearly. The system can therefore be operated easily and intuitively.

Shifting and braking
The Cannondale Tesoro Neo X 3 is equipped with Deore gears. With these gears, commonly used on mid-range mountain bikes, you can explore many different terrains. The rear derailleur gives you 10 gears and the cassette has an 11-42 ratio, which gives a gear range of 381%. When compared with the widely used Shimano Nexus 8 hub gears, for example, this Tesoro Neo X 3 has more gears and a wider range. The hydraulic disc brakes are powerful and easy to modulate, which is largely due to the very big 180 mm brake discs. The advantage of disc brakes is that they perform consistently in varying conditions. Rain, for example, does not affect their braking performance.

Other features
A striking feature of this electric trekking bike is its wide handlebar, which measures 740 mm, quite wide for a city bike. It creates very stable handling. Also, the Tesoro Neo X 3 comes with the Cannondale Ergo Touring saddle, which is relatively hard for a comfortable bike yet very suitable for fast, sporty touring riders. The luggage rack can carry up to 20 kg of luggage, which is plenty for your commute yet a bit limited for a cycling holiday, for which the bike is technically suitable. Visibility is an important aspect of this E-bike. While the Herrmans lights ensure that you will be seen, visibility is further increased by the reflective accents on the frame and fork. On this bike, therefore, you are clearly visible under all circumstances.

Maintenance of the battery
If possible, charge your battery at room temperature. If outside temperatures drop below zero, we recommend removing the battery and storing it inside.
Do not store the battery empty. If you plan not to use your e-bike for a longer period of time, we recommend storing the battery at room temperature around 60% full. Charge the battery occasionally (once a month) to ensure that it lasts as long as possible.

Maintenance of gear parts and brakes
We recommend a regular cleaning of the chain and derailleur for optimum durability and efficiency. As for the hydraulic disc brakes, we recommend cleaning those hardly ever, as contamination with grease and detergents may impair braking performance. If you do want to clean the brake discs, we recommend doing so with a dry paper towel. Try not to touch the discs with your fingers.

Tyre pressure
Having the right tyre pressure is important. The wrong tyre pressure may cause punctures, more wear, rim damage when the pressure is low, and uncomfortable handling. For most e-bikes, tyre pressure is between 3.5 and 6 bar. The recommended pressure for your tyres should be printed on their sidewall.

While you can do a lot of maintenance work yourself, it may be wise to have it checked by a bicycle mechanic.
