RECALL: Cortina E-Mozzo

24 December 2025

Safety update for your Cortina E-Mozzo: What you need to know

Mantel and Cortina take safety seriously, and so we inform you about an important recall for the Cortina E-Mozzo. The recall affects a small number of bikes in which the mounting tab of the front mudguard may break. This may cause the mudguard to come loose and block the front wheel – a dangerous situation that we absolutely want to prevent.

Please note: Do not use the bike for the time being.

Until the mudguard has been reinforced or replaced, we strongly recommend that you do not ride the bike. Although we understand that this may be inconvenient, your safety comes first.

What will Mantel and Cortina do for you?

To ensure you can cycle safely, we will carry out the recall in two steps:

Step 1: Temporary solution – Free mudguard clamp
We will install an additional mudguard clamp on your Cortina E-Mozzo. This clamp will securely hold the mudguard in place until the new, reinforced mudguard becomes available.

  • The bike may look slightly different but the solution is technically completely safe.

  • You can make an appointment using our online Workshop Planner. When scheduling the appointment, select “Recall Cortina E-Mozzo” (“Terugroepactie”).

Step 2: Permanent solution – Replacement of the front mudguard
As soon as Cortina has supplied the new front mudguards with reinforced mounting tabs (expected: end of 2025), we will invite you to schedule a second appointment. During this appointment, we will remove the entire front mudguard free of charge and install the new one for you.

How to make an appointment

  • Please go to our Workshop Planner to easily schedule an appointment.

  • If you do not live near a Mantel store, please contact our Customer Service Team, who will be happy to help find a suitable solution. If necessary, they may refer you to another authorised dealer or send parts to you.

Summary

  • Do not ride the bike for the time being until the mudguard has been reinforced or replaced.

  • Appointment 1: Installation of the temporary mudguard clamp.

  • Appointment 2: Replacement of the front mudguard as soon as it is available.

Your safety is our priority. By carrying out this recall, we will ensure that you can get back on your bike with peace of mind.

I have been very active in endurance sports for a number of years now. It started with running and quickly expanded to cycling. I love being able to see so much when I'm on my bike. From trips to the dunes when I still lived in Rotterdam, to rides through the woods and across the heathland of the Veluwe. My passion for cycling and my work at Mantel are, of course, a fantastic combination!
