Description

The Etixx Beta Alanine tablets contain zinc which contributes to a healthy acid-base metabolism and a healthy acid-basic balance. This is particularly important in high intensity exercise. During exercise, lactic acid builds up in your muscles. This divides into lactate and a single H+ proton. These H+ protons cause the lactic values (pH) of your blood to drop, which is one of the primary reasons for fatigue during such exercise. As acid builds up, the muscle loses contraction and the ability to exert force. This reduces the intensity at which you can perform.

Your body has natural buffers in your muscles and blood to fight off the build up of lactic acid. One of these buffers is called Carnosine. Carnosine comprises of Histidine and Beta-Alanine. Histidine is available in large amounts in our body, but Beta-alanine isn't. The amount of Beta-Alanine available determines how much Carnosine is produced. Using Beta-Alanine supplements can increase the size of the Carnosine buffer.

What type of athlete benefits from Etixx Beta Alanine Slow Release?
Beta-Alanine is usually recommended for athletes who perform highly intense sessions of between 1 and 7 minutes (for instance the 800m - 3000m running). It can also be advantageous for athletes who go through repeated short outburst of maximum exertion. This could be intervals or short, intens races such as a crit in road cycling. Football players can also benefit from its effects. Finally, endurance athletes can benefit from this during intense situations (such as the final sprint or during sharp climbs).
