The new Sram Rival WiFli 22 rear derailleur is one out of many components of the new Rival 22 11 speed groupset. With the introduction of the Rival 11 speed series, Sram made the 11 speed available for a small price.
The Rival WiFli 22 rear derailleur is equipped with the same technology as its bigger brothers, the Force 22 and the Red 22. The biggest difference is its weight. Not using a carbon cage and using steel bolts and pins in this derailleur brings it weight up to 180 grams.
The Rival 22 rear derailleur uses a Exact Actuation shifting mechanism what makes this derailleur shift on a 1: 1 ratio, every click means movement to another sprocket. The new Aero Glide jockey wheels ensure a muted shifting sound.
The WiFli variant can change gears on cassettes up to 32 teeth.

A crooked derailleur hanger?
A common problem is a warped derailleur hanger. This can be caused by the derailleur coming into contact with something hard, for example during a fall. Fortunately, this can be repaired! Find out more here.
Make sure you clean your derailleur pulleys too!
Like the chain, derailleur pulleys get very dirty. This makes for a less enjoyable ride and doesn't help with the durability of your drivetrain. Therefore, when cleaning the chain and / or oiling the chain, it is advisable to also clean the derailleur pulleys. Do this by gently turning the chain while you run a cloth along the derailleur wheel. However, at some point the derailleur wheels will be worn out. Visit our blog to find out when to replace your derailleur pulleys and which ones you need.
