Description

Description

The Sram HS2 Brake Discs are MTB-specific disc brakes designed to improve braking performance. The discs have a larger surface area, which means they dissipate heat better and give a higher braking force. These brake discs are also slightly thicker than usual (2 mm vs. 1.85 mm with normal discs). This makes them extremely suitable for eMTBs, as well as enduro and downhill mountain bikes. Finally, the noise during braking has been drastically reduced, so that you are less likely to suffer from squeaking brakes.

Renewed Pattern and coating
The new pattern of the SRAM HS2 Brake Disc provides more grip in combination with the SRAM brake pads. The central part is treated with a heat-dissipating coating. This makes the HS2 a powerful, quiet brake disc with best-in-class heat management.

Assembly

How do I mount a disc brake rotor?
For disc brake rotors, you have 2 different ways of mounting depending on the lock ring. One has an internal fit that you can tighten with a Cassette Removal Tool without a pin. If the inside of the key is open, it can reach far enough over the axle of the wheel. The other version is an external fit that you can tighten with a bottom bracket tool.

Huge braking power in silence

- Gabriel 18 August 2023

These brake discs work really well with all types of brake pads. I use sintered pads icm Sram Code brakes. Discs are also just round so they have maximum surface area for braking. Longevity is also just fine but will probably be different for everyone. I cycle mainly downhill/enduro.

Pros & Cons

Longer service life
More braking power
Works well with all types of brake pads

Much better brake discs than standard SRAM centerline

- Martijn 2 April 2023

Bought these for my eMTB which due to its weight and the way I use it (Enduro) could use a bit more braking power than the standard SRAM centerline brake discs. Substantial improvement felt, brakes now feel much more controllable and have more bite.

Pros & Cons

Look nicer
More braking force than standard centerline
Slightly more modulation than standard centerline
