Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- The Schwalbe Rick XC Pro EVO Speedgrip is the tyre for athletic cross-country cyclists, for when even fractions of seconds matter.
- The transition between the middle and the shoulder of the tyre has been strengthened to reduce the chance of an impact puncture.
- This tyre is faster than the Schwalbe Racing Ralph and offers more grip than Thunder Burt tyres.
- This tyre's rubber combines high grip and low rolling resistance.
- Developed in collaboration with Olympic silver medalist Mathias Flückiger.
- This tyre is less suitable for extremely wet or extremely muddy conditions.

No need for combinations
On a mountain bike, the ideal front tyre isn't necessarily the ideal rear tyre. For example, riders of the highest level often chose a Racing Ralph as a front tyre, and a Thunder Burt as a rear tyre. This is a thing of the past with the launch of the Racing Rick XC Pro, because it combines the best parts of the Racing Ralph and Thunder Burt. You'll no longer have to combine tyres, but can choose one tyre for both your front and rear wheel.
A light blue stripe across the tyre indicates the use of the Addix SpeedGrip rubber compound. This universal rubber compound is the most widely applicable one, including in disciplines like XC, All Mountain and Trail. The Addix SpeedGrip has a long lifespan when used intensively, and also provides a lot of grip and speed. It's impossible to perfectly balance all desired qualities of a compound, but with Addix SpeedGrip Schwalbe comes very close!
Tubeless Ready
At Schwalbe they're strongly convinced that tubeless riding is the tyre technology of the future. That's why Schwalbe has ensured all mountain bike tyres marked TLE or TLR are optimised for riding without a tube. The construction of the carcass also makes the mounting process easier.

Schwalbe's best so far!
Great tyre in dry conditions! Rolls right and feels safe.

Perfect for road and light terrain
Hit the bull's eye with the tyre. The E-MTB rides like a new one. Always happy to ride again.

Easy to mount and pleasant ride.
After 2x punctures in 2 days, it was time for other MTB tyres. Bike mostly on paved road and sometimes on gravel or forest path. Fitting was easy and went smoothly. No pushing and lashing to get the tyre on the rim. The wide Schwalbe tyre levers were not actually needed (but still a fine product). Have now cycled 500 km with it, through rain and on slippery and frozen cycle paths. Roadholding is excellent and that makes me feel safe.
