Highly flexible and smooth-running belts

- Joris, 22 May, 2021

Warned in advance that laying it on would be very tricky. It's not so difficult if you use the right size latex inland from Challenge and a pair of Schwalbe tyre levers (those blue ones). Cycles really wonderfully! With the right (not too high!) tyre pressure, you float over any surface. Still too few kilometres to judge wear and puncture resistance, but so far very satisfied.

Pros & Cons

Looks
Rolling resistance
Weight
Handiness needed to put them on rim

Recommended if you want to spend a bit more.

- Patrick, 9 April, 2021

Riding such a wide tyre for the first time, I was incredibly shocked by its handling. You don't feel the difference compared to a 25 or 28mm. I used both and was completely convinced by the comfort and rolling resistance. Nothing else for me.

definitely worthwhile

- Arie, 8 January, 2021

I've always used tyres from Challenge(for field riding), and they always go on a bit hard, this one was a degree worse in that. But when you get it on, it's well worth it. I use it on my electric bike, and it can now clearly go further on a battery charge. A very fine, very light running belt, with plenty of grip. I hadn't had such a wide tyre before, but you don't notice anything adverse about it! If it were easier to fit, I'd give it a 10. Always fit it with a latex inner tube though, so it feels like riding with a tube.

Pros & Cons

does not come off with a puncture
high grip
run very lightly
well, it could go on a bit easier.

Very good...

- Tom, 28 October, 2020

Difficult tyres to get on, don't use silicone tubing on the first fitting as it gets caught very easily and breaks.... Take a traditional rubber one and mount it first and leave it overnight, change to silicone after that if you want a silicone tube as the tyre has stretched a little and is easier to mount. Tip, use washing-up liquid on the rim edge, it will be easier to get the tyre on the last bit. Fantastic tyres once they are on.

Pros & Cons

Comfortable
Good even on wet roads
Good road holding on poor tarmac
Rolls well
Difficult to mount

Fine band

- Max, 12 October, 2020

Unlike others, I actually get the tyre on very easily (the Michelin Power Mud TLR was a disaster for me). Wear and tear after +/- 3000 km is not too bad either, so that's good. I also have no problems with delamination of the casing and rubber. If you really go off-road, a bit more tread would be better of course (in autumn/winter it's not to be done) but the great thing about this tyre is that you can tackle some single tracks with little pressure first and then still be fast on the road. Win-win I would say. I did have two punctures because of the thin cheeks (that's the other side of the coin because of the suppleness). That puncture resistance layer is only in the middle of the tread.

Pros & Cons

Easy for me to put on it
Lots of grip on asphalt
MTB routes in dry weather
Cheeks are rather thin
Not so good in mud

Top band, bit tight

- Teun, 24 September, 2020

Have now driven a few hundred kilometres with this tyre. Really blissful ride. Fitting is not easy, as I had read here. However, with the help of a bit of suds and a good tyre lever, it is quite doable. Keeping in mind one of the panic stories from previous reviews, I did a test to change an inner tube immediately after fitting. Goes fine if the tyre has already been fitted once. All in all, a top tyre and still looks nice on the bike.

Pros & Cons

Blissful ride
Well finished
