Description
The Trek Supercaliber 9.8 is a new short travel cross-country bike that bridges the gap between hardtail and fully race bikes thanks to the integrated IsoStrut suspension. The 60 mm rear suspension travel offers better grip and control than a hardtail, but at the same time, it's not as complex and lighter than a traditional fully.
Trek's proprietary OCLV Mountain Carbon provides the right mix of flexibility and strength in the hingeless rear train, while the Straight Shot down tube makes the bike extra stiff and delivers a responsive and alert ride feel. Knock Block protects the frame from a flipped handlebar and the frame offers the possibility to mount two bottle cages.
The stiff and wonderfully wide carbon wheels make it possible to ride with lower tyre pressure. This increases grip and control with constant or even reduced rolling resistance. Who doesn't want that? For the assembly of the Supercaliber 9.8, Trek opted for the proven quality of Sram GX Eagle.
With the Supercaliber 9.8, Trek has developed a bike that eliminates the need to choose between hardtail and fully. Because this bike combines the advantages of both types in one super bike!
