Like other SPD mountain bike pedals, the XT M8000 pedals can be engaged from two sides. Included are the SH-51 cleats which offer 4 degrees of float and allow you some freedom of movement. Spring tension can be adjusted for each pedal by using an allen key, setting up the amount of force required to (dis)engage the pedal from the cleat.

Light and fast clip in
Machined to eliminated every but of excess . Lighter thsn the xt but still with a pair of cleats. Longevity will only be proof of a 50 uk pounds bargain

Great peddal
Quality item, whether they are worth £30 more than the M520's I have normally used is another matter, but they feel lighter and quite robust.
