Deze Scott Scale 925 is een hardtail mountainbike die gemaakt is om te knallen. Naast dat deze Scott er super goed uitziet met zijn tijdloze kleuren, is hij ook nog eens goed afgemonteerd. Een winnende combinatie met het stijve en lichte carbon frame en dito Fox voorvork. Daarmee is hij gemaakt om te presteren tijdens wedstrijden, tijdens je mountainbike toertochten of om een nieuw PR neer te zetten op de lokale mountainbike route.
De Scott Scale 925 is een goede keuze voor de ambitieuze mountainbiker. Licht, snel, goed en een mooie look!
De Scott Scale 925 heeft een typische cross country uitstraling die geïnspireerd is door de wedstrijd modellen van Scott. Het lage stuur en de relatief lange bovenbuis zorgen voor een snelle positie op de fiets. De 29 inch wielen zijn al jaren de populairste keuze voor een nieuwe mountainbike. Deze grotere wielen rollen moeiteloos over allerlei obstakels. Het plaatje wordt helemaal afgemaakt met de Racing Ray voorband en Racing Ralph achterband van Schwalbe. De Ray heeft veel grip en stuurt daardoor ideaal op allerlei ondergronden. De Ralph is wat gladder en helpt je vlot te versnellen.
Fox 32 StepCast voorvork
De Fox 32 StepCast Float Performance Air Grip 3 voorvork doet waar hij voor staat. Deze levert uitstekende prestaties -performance- onder alle omstandigheden. Bochtige singletracks en nu en dan een grote sprong worden vlot opgevangen. Het opvallende StepCast ontwerp geeft een stoere look.
De voorvork heeft drie verschillende standen die je bedient vanaf je stuur: Vast voor als je een sprintje trekt of gewoon voor op het asfalt, medium voor bijvoorbeeld grind stroken en open voor de echte singletracks en het zware werk.
Betrouwbare afmontage
In het bos moet je snel reageren op obstakels en elementen op het parcours. Van je materiaal verwacht je dan ook grote precisie en snelheid. De Shimano XT derailleur en de Shimano Deore cassette voldoen hier absoluut aan. De cassette is gemaakt van staal en gaat ook in modderige omstandigheden lang mee. De vertanding van 10-51 is ruim voldoende om de steilste klimmetjes op te komen. Samen met het Shimano SLX 32 tands crankstel kan je dus altijd het juiste verzet vinden.

The color is much darker than in the product photos. Looks more like black than blue. But the bike is fast, and rides great. I would put different grips on it, but that's personal. Too bad the remote lockout is more or less fixed to the grip. That is why it sits a bit too close to your hand. It's not like you need it all the time. Tubeless rims and tubeless ready tires are nice, but a set of valves would be nice, and whether the rim tape is tubeless ready is beyond me. Salesman didn't know that either so unfortunately I have to disassemble the tire first to see for myself. In terms of price, with Scott you also pay a bit for the brand and the looks, there are brands where you get just a bit more for your money. But yes, as far as I'm concerned the eye wants something too. By the way, the downtube is not extra protected with foil, and the matte top tube is susceptible to scratches.
