It's just as useful in the lowlands as it is in the mountains, but the sprocket spacing takes some getting used to (compared to an 11-28 cassette, for example), but in the end it's perfectly acceptable.

Bought the 11-30 options downgrading from a 11-28 Dura Ace R9100. The shifting petformance is comparable to Dura Ace or better, there is less noise overall. The 30-teeth sprocket is a benefit on 10%+ gradients and worthwhile the extra weight. Service was superb as usual. Prompt delivery of a competitively priced item that was not available everywhere.

The 14/28 is ideal for long touring on the flat or time trials where the smallest cogs are never used for sprinting, that way you have a lot of gears left in small increments so you can always ride a nice cadence. 12/25 is perhaps a little lighter for the powerhouses among us who also want gears that are close together. By the way, for quick cleaning, the coating on the 105 is nicer, it is smoother.

11 speed cassette is used on a SPEED PEDELEC with rear wheel motor. The ratios are excellent, always a cadence to match the speed. Durability has yet to be experienced.

Shimano has a name. Basically, you can rely on it. Everything is well thought out. Sometimes I miss concrete documentation about the differences between the product types

A very good cassette in the usual Shimano quality, whether it is worth the extra price to the 105er, everyone must decide for themselves. The only criticism from my side would be the very short thread approach of the terminal nut. There is definitely room for a few millimeters more of threads. This concerns but not only the Ultegra - cassette.

Cassette I bought for the Wahoo Kickr. I was not clear whether the spacer ring had to be on it at the beginning or not - but without it does not work, you can not tighten the cassette then. Quality is top, you can not go wrong with the pinion assembly. Torque wrench I can only recommend!

Only wish I'd bought one of these before now - at 1.95m tall and 95kgs, a 32/11t cassette is a must on them thar hills (not that we have many in East Anglia, but when venturing further afield it makes all the difference. And Mantel IS the supplier to but your trust (& money) in. They'll never let you down!
