Waterproof heart rate monitor for use whilst swimming

- Wouter, 15 June, 2026

I bought it because it’s waterproof enough to wear whilst swimming during a triathlon. When running, it provides detailed metrics such as step speed loss in conjunction with my Garmin Forerunner 970, though this data doesn’t really contribute much to the training itself.

Pros & Cons

Comprehensive running metrics
Connects easily to all my devices
Waterproof enough for use whilst swimming.
On the pricey side

Top quality

- Jan Peter, 26 February, 2026

Pairing quite tricky if you have an older watch. In my case, the Fenix 6 pro. This one still uses the open source and not the new secure source. This means that to pair, you have to press the button 2x in quick succession and then the green light comes on 3x in quick succession. If you have secure source then press it once and the green light will blink 2x.

Pros & Cons

Garmin quality

Fun for datafreaks

- Leon, 15 February, 2026

Compared to the old HRM-pro plus, there are two changes. With compatible device, you can measure your step loss. Nice, but you can't do much with it. What is handy is that the sensor is rechargeable.

Pros & Cons

Accurate
Rechargeable
Running economics (step loss)
Little advantage over HRM pro
Pricey

Very happy with the heart rate monitor. The product is easy to pair with phone/other Garmin devices. Only downside is the label on the inside of the band, which started to irritate after a long run.

Very easy to use
There is a label on the inside, which irritates

It is a step up from my previous HRM. Added data points for running and, I do like the fact that I can just recharge the battery, no more battery replacements.

Pros & Cons

Added data for running.
Fits well and is comfortable.
Works as it should.

Very good heart rate meter band -> highly recommended

- Wilfried, 2 January, 2026

After having encountered defective HRM dual twice in one year, I opted for the HRM 600; band is different material and can be customised well. Unit itself connects very quickly with Edge 1050 and enduro2 clock, the slightest variation in heart rate is shown immediately and it is possible to indicate an activity via the connect app and then record it to read out later without having to carry an extra device. Battery also lasts quite long and recharging is no problem with the supplied cable.

Pros & Cons

Despite exchange (first one too small) quickly remedied
Perfectly informed about delivery time
very fast delivery HRM600

Ideal for walking and running on heart rate

- Harmen, 2 January, 2026

initial startup and connect gave some problems, but now satisfies just fine! Big advantage is that the HRM600 does its job standalone and can sync afterwards.

also measures under water
