The Mavic Crossmax SL 29 MTB wheels are stiff, lightweight and reliable thanks to a wide aluminium rim on which considerable weight has been saved without sacrificing stiffness. It is Mavic's most advanced aluminium set to date, and suitable for all-round cross country mountain bike use.

Equipped with a tubeless system that is very easy to make tubeless and gives you less chance of punctures. The rims are optimised to fit tyres between 2.1 and 2.3 inches. The Black Shield treatment protects the rims from external damage.

It also activates the crash replacement option, giving you up to 40% off a comparable product. You are eligible for this if your wheel is beyond repair after a crash or collision.

Through the MyMavic app (available in the App Store and via Google Play), you can get advice on the right tyre width and pressure to suit your rim width and surface.

(UST) Universal Standard for Tubeless
The rim is Tubeless ready. Therefore, rim tape is not necessary. The UST concept improves traction, control and comfort and also reduces inertia and punctures.

(Instant Drive 360)
The Instant Drive 360 freewheel body system is super light and has a fast engaging locking system with only 9° engagement. A large rubber seal guarantees little friction and a good seal. A large shaft and the hardened aluminum body save 40 grams.

(FORE) Stiffer and stronger
Instead of drilling spoke holes through the rim, the holes are made on the inside of the rim to leave the outside of the rim intact. This makes the rim 4 times stronger in durability. And a 20% increase in stiffness for maximum power transfer.

(SUP) Stronger and smoother rim joint
Soudé Usiné Process: After bending, the rim joint is arc welded. The welded seam is then milled for a stiff and smooth finish.

(QRM) Quality of Roulements Mavic
Mavic uses only high quality sealed bearings. On wheels with QRM, double-sealed 2RS bearings with low rolling resistance are used.

12 speed freehub body type
Some 12 speed cassettes must be mounted on the 10/11 speed SRAM/Shimano freehub body. These are the SRAM NX Eagle PG-1230 cassettes and almost all other 12 speed MTB cassettes with an 11-teeth cog as smallest sprocket. MTB cassettes with a 10-teeth sprocket as smallest cog need a special freehub body. For Shimano this is the a Micro-Spline freehub body and for SRAM it is XD.
