The Lapierre Edge 9.9 is an excellent mountain bike for those who love riding on dirt roads.
Off the beaten track
Lapierre has developed a mountain bike that will let you rip through the forest and over gravel tracks. A sturdy frame and very solid equipment will give you enjoyable tours.
If you would like to start riding on dirt roads, the Lapierre Edge 9.9 is an ideal mountain bike for you.
The basis of this mountain bike is the lightweight aluminum frame, which allows you to steer fast and sharp. The cables run through the frame, so they are well protected from splashing dirt and rain. For comfortable cycling, Lapierre has fitted a RockShox front fork with lock-out. Lockout allows you to adjust the suspension travel while riding, so you can ride as efficiently as possible anywhere you end up. After all, on asphalt you need much less suspension than on dirt trails. Lapierre chose the Schwalbe Tough Tom tyre for the front tyre, which gives the bike a lot of traction. The rear tyre is the Schwalbe Rapid Rob, which is a perfect match for the Tough Tom.
Shifting and braking
Shifting is done on this mtb with the Shimano Deore gear group. This gear group is very solid and shifts properly. The Edge 9.9 comes with 12 gears and a 10-51 cassette, which gives you a huge gear range. The cassette is also designed with Hyperglide+ technology, which increases shifting efficiency and smoothness. Braking is done with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. These deliver excellent braking power, even in poor conditions. In addition, these brakes are excellent to modulate, so you can take each turn very precisely.
