Comfortable in the saddle
The basis of the Gazelle Avignon is the sleek aluminium frame. This low step frame provides great comfort and direct steering. The cables are integrated into the frame, so they are well protected from precipitation or other dirt. The seating position on this electric city bike is upright, so you will still be comfortable in the saddle even after a long day. Moreover, you have the option to personalise the seating position even further through the adjustable stem. The front fork on the Avignon features suspension in the headset, which duly dampens light shocks. The seat post is also sprung, offering extra protection to your lower back. The tyres under this bike are 55 mm wide, pleasant on practically any surface.

E-bike technology
The electric support on the Gazelle comes from the Bosch Performance Line mid-motor. This mid-motor has a torque of 50Nm, which ensures you'll be fine even on slightly hilly terrain. The motor uses three different sensors that provide natural and smooth support. The battery on this electric bike provides 625Wh of power, giving you a range of at least 100 kilometres, making the Avignon also excellent for use as a touring bike. You control the motor using the Bosch Intuvia display. This display shows all basic ride data well, and can also be operated without taking your hands off the handlebars.

Shifting and braking
This electric bike comes with a Shimano Nexus 8 speed internal gear hub. Braking is done with Magura hydraulic disc brakes. These disc brakes deliver excellent braking performance, even in poor conditions. Moreover, they are easy to dose, so you can steer into every corner with confidence.

Connect app
Main USP is connectivity: thanks to the built-in Gazelle Connect module, you connect the bike to the Gazelle Connect app for many extras, including theft protection. You'll get an alert if the bike starts moving without you being around. After theft, professionals locate the bike using a GPS signal. The data subscription required for this is included in the purchase (duration: four years).

What's the difference between a 'normal' Gazelle e-bike and a Connect model?
With the Gazelle Connect module, you can always see the location of your e-bike and protect it from theft. This built-in GPS module in Gazelle Connect bikes ensures your e-bike is always traceable via the Gazelle Connect app. This allows you to easily see on a map where your e-bike is located. Moreover, you can activate theft protection via the app, which alerts you to unexpected movements of your e-bike. If your e-bike is stolen, you report it immediately via the app, after which a detection team springs into action to find your bike. If the bike is not recovered, you will receive an appropriate proposal from the insurer, possibly resulting in (part of) the new price or a new e-bike.
