Bearing grease is specifically for the moving part on your bike. These are the parts that rotate like the wheel hubs, bottom bracket and the headset. This grease is used in ball bearings or around bearings to keep them turning smoothly and because these parts move, a good sealing characteristic is as important in order to protect them against moisture and dirt.
Can I use bearing grease as an assembly grease?
In some cases you can also use a bearing grease for mounting parts, check the packaging of what you grease. However, this is only true for aluminium parts and will not provide extra grip like assembly paste with ceramic particles.
