Description
The Cube Attain 2017 is the successor to the previous Cube Peloton. It's not as simple as just sticking on a new name, however! The technology put into this bike has advanced so much, it really did deserve a new name. The Cube Attain uses the so-called Road Comfort Geometry, which means you're in a slightly more upright position compared to most other bikes. The top tube is marginally shorter, while the head tube is slightly taller. The head tube is the part of the frame which runs from your front fork up to your stem.
The largest change can be found in the frame material itself, which now is a double butted aluminium frame. What does that mean? This refers to the tubes being thinner in the middle, and stronger at the ends. Most of your power comes together at the joints of the frame, which is where most of the stresses are exerted as well. A double butted frame uses 2 (hence the term double) different thicknesses in the tube design: thin in the middle, thicker at the ends. Light where they can be, strong where they need to.
Note: All the bikes sold by Mantel come with the front brake on the left, and the rear brake on the right of the handlebar. If you’re accustomed to another set-up, then consider having this changed by an expert, or take your time to get used to the current set-up.
