Description
The Italian word 'idro' means 'hydro', which refers to water. In the case of this rain jacket, it refers to the ability to prevent water coming in while allowing sweat to escape. The Castelli Idro 3 offers superior performance on both counts. The '3' in the name refers to the fact that this is the third version of the product.
Technology
Fully waterproof GORE-TEX rain jacketThe Idro 3 is Castelli's lightest and most compact fully waterproof GORE-TEX rain jacket. It offers optimal protection during heavy rainfall and windy conditions. Thanks to the GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY product technology, you can easily shake water off the jacket, and it also offers unparalleled breathability. The entire lower back features GORE-TEX Topo stretch fabric. This material ensures a neat fit and expands when you have full back pockets or simply a bit more body volume.
Internal wrist gaiter
The Castelli Idro 3 has an internal wrist gaiter, which seals the wrist and connects well with a glove to prevent water coming in through the sleeves and to further reduce your chance of getting wet.
Waterproof YKK Vislon zip and reflectivity
At the front of this rain jacket is a waterproof YKK Vislon zip, which opens and closes very smoothly, making it easy to put the jacket on and take it off. You can also use this zip to adjust ventilation. As reflective tape has been added to the back of both sleeves, the Castelli Idro 3 makes you visible even in low light conditions.
Materials
• Main fabric: 100% polyamide

Perfect rain jacket
After using the pro version for 3 years I can easily say that this jacket is a perfect fit if you only need one rain jacket. It's light, compact and well cut (note that the size is bigger than usual: I normally wear an XL from Castelli but here I took a L). The little details like the back opening for the jersey pockets or the under sleeves to keep the forearms dry are a perfect improvement compared to the previous model!
